France’s coach Raymond Domenech conceded Patrick Vieira could well be playing for Arsenal this season. But he will have to play regularly at Arsenal to be assured of a starting place in the France side according to Domenech:
“Pat needs to play a lot to feel good and to get back to his best level.
“He has to keep playing. I hope he will start playing – at Arsenal or Inter Milan.”

I have a feeling that Vieira may not be what we want him to be, namely whsat he once was. He has a lot of mileage on his engine and injuries
he sustain are typical to a man who battled through pain barriers to complete games. This however, comes back to haunt you which is what is happening with Vieira. I am afraid his legs are long gone and he may not last a whole game at the tempo we play on leave alone a whole season.
I hope he surprises me but I am pessimistic about his prospects.
If he comes and flops, that will cloud my memory I have of our talisman. However, these is that inner feeling: what if he can still cut it. Maybe not 90 minutes but 75 or a bit less, he could come on and battle from 50 minutes when we are being hussled by some team that pack a bus in defence to hit us the counter. All just dreams
