Bordeaux manager Laurent Blanc has paved the way for Chamakh’s move to Arsenal saying he will not let the Morrocon international to leave for a small club, but if a big club comes in (apparently Arsenal who are a big club have made a move for him) he will not stop Chamakh from leaving:
“I am going to do everything to make sure he does not go to just any club. With him, things are clear. After the season he’s had, if he has to go, it will be to a big club. That’s why I am standing in the way of a departure to Sunderland.
“I am not going to change what I said to him at the start of the year. If an offer comes from a big club, I will not stand in the way. The door is half-open.”
So as Arsene Wenger has already enquired about him, one can guess the move is on the cards now. So Bordeaux’s president’s statement that finalising the move could drag on like a soap opera is a kind of contradiction as the manager is willing to let go easily.

Why get him when he can get Huntelaar (awesome box finisher) for just 3 mill more? And Sunderland and Blackburn are the other clubs interested, so that shows he is not that great!

I also would prefer Huntelaar… But if Wenger buys Chamakh instead even then I would be satisfied. What was Henry when he signed? Nothing. Adebayor? Anelka? van Persie? So Chamakh could turn out to be another one of Wenger’s masterpieces!

Zain, I agree with you. I bet Arsene has had him watched for YEARS. He knows by now what is his potential. Trust him.

@ Aan and Gooner Pete, the boy is good, really good! He’s exactly what we need, plus if you’ve ever watched him play, he never tires, and he’s also a team player but selfish at the same time! With him, you won’t have to scream shoot as with Ade!

I also remember people blabbering off that we should stop when we were about to sign Arshavin.

Kipish, i have seen him play before, he has a fantastic workrateand attitude but his finishing stinks. We need a good finisher to convert the chances we make as we waste so many of them which leads to losses/draws which should have been wins.

I agree with colm,He’s 25 and he’s a bit of an unknown quantity. I think we,re alright for strikers anyway.I’d like to be proved wrong however

I support all the comments from the contributors, but i want people to know that Wenger can someone from nowhere to become great, only that it is possible to sign Hunterlar, it will be great plus and aggressive midfielder then the boys will play. Trust in the coach as he knows what he is doing.
