Arshavin with his ex-agent Dennis Lachter

Arshavin with his ex-agent Dennis Lachter

Arshavin a few days back sacked his agent Dennis Lachter. For those who are still not sure whether the sacking has actually taken place or not need not have any second thoughts about it as it was mentioned on Arshavin’s official site that Arshavin is ending cooperation with his agent Dennis Lachter and will from now on be representing himself.

So probably to get back to Arshavin, the agent has tried to cause unrest in the Arsenal dressing room by urging Barcelona to bid for his former client, and he said that giving the impression he is talking on Arshavin’s behalf. Here is what he said:

“Before anything else, Barcelona should make a formal offer.

“Then we can sit down and speak.”

What does he mean we can sit down and speak?! He is NOT the agent of Arshavin anymore so what is he trying to do?! It seems to me he is trying to get revenge from Arshavin over his sacking. So it’s quite obvious now a fight or something took place between the two before Arshavin decided to part ways with Dennis.

Arshavin - Praying for Arsenal Move!

Arshavin - Praying for Arsenal Move!

Andrei Arshavin’s is desperate to join Arsenal. Zenit have resigned to selling the Russian star but their high demands are frustating not only Arsenal, Dennis Lachter, Gooners, but Arshavin himself too! Arshavin seemingly likes Arsenal and wants the move to go through but is not at all pleased with Zenit’s ‘artificial’ demands.

“I see Arsenal as my team of the future. Everything now depends on Zenit. If they want to sell me, they can do it very quickly. My hopes now rest with God. Apart from Him, nobody can help me. Zenit have to think realistically. I believe Arsenal’s offer is much closer to my real value in the transfer market at the moment. ‘It is obvious that in these times of [financial] crisis, no one will offer such a big amount.”

Seems like Arshavin is more intellegent than Zenit’s officials! Zenit should know no one is going to give them what they are asking for in these times. It’s quite obvious and I hate their stubborn attitude of sticking with their demands. Sooner or later they will have to settle for around £12m to £15m so why not do it now rather than needlessly waste time. One can see the pain in Arshavin’s words! Man he really wants to come to Arsenal badly! Wow! As for misleading comments made by Dennis Lachter time and time again, they are not to be entirely trusted as according to Zenit’s officials he is not a part of the negotations that are taking place between the two clubs. And now that Arshavin wants to leave, this saga reminds me of Hleb! He too wanted to leave, Arsenal did not want to lose him. But eventually he ended up where he wanted to go. Hopefull the same will happen for Arshavin!.

Talking of Hleb, the Barca man is quite optimistic about Arshavin’s tranfer to Arsenal. He said:

“Wenger always shows that he believes in his players. It gives the players great energy and helps in any situation. I am sure that if Andrei joins Arsenal, it will work out well. There, he would be an even bigger star. He needs to train well and be himself. Arshavin is a top-class footballer and I think he would fit into Arsenal’s plans. However, it would be important for him to learn English.”

Seems like Hleb follows Arsenal! And why would he not, he hardly plays for Barce! Poor lad! But its nice to see him talking well of Arsenal. I completely agree with him.

Arshavin - May finallyyy be a Gunner soon

Arshavin - May finallyyy be a Gunner soon

Andrei Arshavin’s transfer to Arsenal now seems inevitable. The endless tranfer saga is finally drawing to an end according the player’s agent Dennis Lachter. Arsenal have been linked with the Russian star since December but the deal still hasn’t been done with Zenit having turned down a £10m bid from Arsenal. However, as it is shaping up there isn’t much interest in the Zenit forward from any other big clubs so the deal with Arsenal seems bound to happen. Arsenal’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis has also been invited to St. Petersburg to meet Zenit officials to finalise the deal. Dennis Lachter said:

“The deal should go through this week. Andrei wants to go, Arsenal want him and Zenit accept they have to sell. It’s just a matter of sorting out the sums but the indication is it’ll happen soon, perhaps within days.”

So it seems good news is just round the corner. With Nasri and van Persie performing the way they are right now, Arshavin should forge a nice partnership with the two. I can’t wait to see him playing for Arsenal. I expect if the deal is done he will probably get the number 13 shirt…

Arshavin - A Gunner very soon...

Arshavin - A Gunner very soon...

Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Andrei Arshavin may be Arsenal’s 1st transfer this January. The Russian playmaker has been linked with a move to Arsenal for quite some time now and that move might finally take place in the coming days according to his agent Dennis Lachter. According to an Italian Daily the skillful star of Euro 2008 will join Arsenal on a 5 year deal for £18m.

“Andrei is rated by Wenger who wanted him to sign for Arsenal  last summer. This transfer would please everyone but we must wait a few days for confirmation.”

So he will be a Gunner in the next few days! An official statement hasn’t come out yet possibly because of the final terms of the contract would be agreed upon right now. So Arsene Wenger might finally make a transfer that will please all the Arsenal fans! I am hopeful the guy will be able to adapt to the Premier League well and should start performing within a few matches. Lets hope 2009 continues this way for Arsenal and may we see more big name signings!
