Arsenal’s star player Andrei Arshavin was asked by a fan whether he is satisfied with Arsenal’s lack of spending and whether he thinks Arsenal can challenge for the title this season:
Q. Do you think Arsenal will prove to be serious contenders for the Premier League this year?
Are you satisfied with the club’s development strategy in this area (cheap breeding, relying on youth)?A. Each club has its own development strategy, so we – the players must take it the way it is.
Can we be champions? I hope this year we will.

I think Arshavin is right, we can be champions provided we remain focused on work on goal scoring tactics rather than entertainment. We have world class players who can do anything. Let us support them but Wenger shd buy atleast two more players.

wenger is in for trouble if he fails to deliver this season. he can no longer say he dint have the money because he sold toure and ade for 40mil. people have suggested that the purchase of arshavin and vermaelen has reduced that figure. even if thats the case we must have at least 14mil left and that should be enough to buy us a decent cb. to sell senderos and keep silvestre is suicide by any means and i wont be surprised if he is booed off the pitch if he drops one of those clangers again. the fact he is a former united player jus adds to the hate the fans have for tht fella. wenger has built this team and no one can deny tht. wht he cant deny is tht his reputation is being tarnished and if this ends up badly the fans wouldnt have fond memories of him.
