Once again we are back to the competition which we stand the greatest chance of winning. It hasn’t been a weekend full of surprises in the FA Cup, though it is generally renowned for shocking results. Lets hope the weekend ends in a similar manner, without any surprise in Arsenal vs Burnley. It is the 3rd meeting between the two in just about a year. 1st up it was in the FA Cup last season in which Arsenal truimphed 2-0. Then this season in the Carling Cup Burnley took revenge and dumped Arsenal’s young guns out of the competition with a 2-0 win. Burnley are going through a mixed form lately. They have had defeats, draws and wins in their last few games and their form looks like: W D D L W. But that is in the Championship, in the FA Cup they are coming from a superb 3-1 win over West Brom. Ironically Arsenal’s last match coming into this fixture had been against the same side and the scoreline was the same. But in Cup ties form is out of the question. Its all about who performs better on that very day and it is quite expected it will be Arsenal today but you can never be sure about it. We have seen Burnley defeat Chelsea, Arsenal, Fulham, Spurs and West Brom already this season which is amazing for a championship side to do in one season! Talking of team news now. Toure is out with a calf injury. Silvestre was expected to return but doesn’t. Gallas however does come back and should go straight into the starting line-up along with Djourou. Eduardo and Walcott will make their much awaited returns and it would be interesting to see how well they fare. Apart from them no one else returns as yet but we will probably see Adebayor back by Wednesday. Fabianski should be in goal today as he is our FA Cup keeper. Another chance for him to impress. Sagna, Gallas, Djourou, Clichy/Gibbs will complete the defence. I have a feeling Gibbs will be given a run and Clichy given some rest today. The midfield and attack is just too hard to predict. But I think the likes of Nasri and van Persie would be rested considering we have the trip to Roma in mid-week and Wenger prioritises Champions League ahead of the FA Cup. So I predict Arshavin and Bendtner up front. Vela on the left. Denilson and Ramsey in the centre and Eboue on the right. Now Eduardo and Walcott are coming back so we might well see a start for one of them, but not both. My prediction is 2-0 to Arsenal.
