Just three away goals all season for Fulham and Arsenal have failed to score in their last 3 Premier League games. It’s like a 0-0 draw waiting to happen. Fulham have had 6 draws away from home this season including 0-0 at Anfield,Villa Park and White Hart Lane. To make matters worse for Arsenal, Roy Hodgson has already warned Fulham will come and defend if they need to.
The signs don’t look encouraging but we sure saw Arsenal play some enthralling football and we could easily have seen 3 or 4 goals but unfortunately we witnessed just 1 goal. Arsene Wenger had tried out a new formation 4-2-3-1 and it seemed to work wonders for Arsenal. We saw the best football played by the Gunners in quite some time. I would love to see that same formation tried again. It’s quite attacking and might help to at least get one goal against a probably 9 or 10 man Fulham defence! The line up is expect considering Wenger goes for the same formation as against Roma because it worked so well.
Sagna Gallas Toure Clichy
Nasri Arshavin Bendtner
Arshavin’s creativity combined with Nasri’s should help break the resilient defence down. It will be a very interesting match. I expect Fulham to park the bus, Arsenal to dominate possession but whether we will see a goal or not is too hard to call.
Fulham have done a good job against top teams. They have held Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa and of course defeated Arsenal so this could be a tough match. I am quite sure Fulham will just defend but Andy Johnson will stay forward and if one midfielder stays a bit forward too Fulham might be quite dangerous on the counter especially as Sagna and Clichy are very attacking.
I can’t wait to see Arshavin tonight. He had our best chances against Sunderland and he wasn’t 100% fit then. Now he has had another week to get back to full fitness so he should be even better this time! And Bendtner is low on confidence and he is missing sitters so I am not too sure whether he will be given the start or not. Maybe Eboue will start instead of him who according to Wenger is a ‘pass master’.
When I predict and Arsenal win they end up drawing and because of that I superstitiously predicted a 0-0 draw against Roma and Arsenal won! So again I will go for a 0-0 draw, and this time it looks very likely to be honest.
