Arsene Wenger had identified Bordeaux forward Marouane Chamakh as Emmanuel Adebayor’s replacement way in advance. According to reports Bordeaux have already turned down a £6.9m offer from Arsenal.
However Wenger is expected to improve his offer and bid again as Adebayor’s departure seems highly likely now. One thing is for sure, unless Bordeaux are once again not satisfied with the amount Wenger is willing to pay for the Moroccon international the deal will be done as Chamakh has claimed it would be a dream to play for Arsenal joining a long list of players to have said that!
“If it materialises, I will accept Arsenal. It would be a dream.”
Huntelaar is another option available in Real Madrid’s unwanted forward Klass-Jan Huntelaar but the low price of Chamakh seems to attract Wenger more as Huntelaar is nearly £10m more expensive.

Wenger has now said that he may buy him in January. So Chamakh may get his dream after all!
