Almunia now eligible for a British passport. May soon be representing England now!

Almunia - Nearing the chance to become England's no.1

Arsenal’s no.1 could soon be England’s no.1. The Spaniard today has officially spent 5 years in England and is now eligible for a British passport. Once he gets that passport he will be eligible to play for England as he has never played an international game for Spain.

That is good news for the Arsenal stopper as he had given up on the chances of making it to the Spanish side. Here is what he had to say:

“It is almost impossible for me to be called up by Spain.

“But it would be an honour if the England coach counted on me.”

And it is great news for England fans as well because he is arguably a lot better than the likes of James, Robinson etc.
